2017 Coaches Bio – Head Coach Todd Wheeler

Originally out of Muscatine, Ia., Todd Wheeler was a two-sport student athlete and letter winner in high school track and football. Todd was an All-Conference selection in football and qualified for state in track. At the end of his senior year, Todd was selected to play in the Down Under Bowl for the state of Iowa’s All-Star team. Todd played one year of college football at Northern Area Iowa Community College before having a career ending Injury. Northern Area Iowa Community College won the league championship and was Ranked 3rd in the nation. Todd worked at Terminix International for a number of years as an Entomologist and thermal remediation specialist and now works at Bosch Pest Control.         

After his Injury, Todd received his certification in coaching theory from Kirkwood Community College in 2002. In 2004 Todd received an associates degree in criminology from Muscatine Community College. In 2009 he received his certification in entomology through Iowa State University.

Coach Wheeler started his coaching career at Muscatine High School (2001-2005). He was a Defensive Coordinator and assisted on the track team as well. While coaching in his hometown, he was a part of the programs conference championship and first trip to the state playoffs. His 2nd coaching stint was at Central High School (2005-2009) were he was the special teams coordinator and defensive coordinator. In his past time, Coach Wheeler was coached in an amateur tackle league. During his time in the league, he coached in 2 Championship games in 4 yrs. (2007-2011).

From 2008-2011, Todd was the head coach and defensive coordinator for the Quad City Stallions semi-professional team. In 2010 they finished as runners up in the Midstates Football Alliance. In 2011 Todd was named head coach of the Quad City Wolfpack (2011-2013). During his time with the Pack, he was a part of the teams board of directors and helped form the team, he was also the offensive and special teams Coordinator. In 2012 Coach Wheeler was also named head coach for the Nationals Team in the Alliance Football League’s All-Star game. In 2012 the Wolfpack were the Hermitage Bowl Champions. In 2013 the Wolfpack won the UNFL League Championship.
